Technical Program Manager

  • Created a real-time, employee driven project/resource management system and corresponding process used by entire business units (40+ users). System eliminated resource over allocation issues and provided consistent and repeatable project schedules reducing development time by 10%+.

  • Using this process, successfully project managed the development and release of 15 power devices (10 in a single year) including a new industry-leading digital power module family line with revenues exceeding $150 million

  • Created a “Lessons Learned” initiative - unique to our business unit. Fully integrated it within the project management process and organization culture.

Lab Automation and Validation Manager

  • Developed a scalable LabVIEW based automated system to test power semiconductor devices. System consisted of data muxes, oscilloscopes, waveform generators, power supplies, electronic loads and environmental chambers. System incorporated into multiple global sites. Automated system led to a 40% validation time reduction with 40% increased coverage

  • Created SharePoint based system for logging and tracking of all validation and characterization activities

  • Managed the creation of an automatic validation report generation tool using NI Diadem.

  • Designed +2K sq ft state of the art power electronics lab

  • Developed validation test plans based on customer use scenarios, typical industry standards, specification datasheets and design engineering feedback.

  • Designed and implemented hardware and software (LabVIEW, VBA) for semi-automated application testing of Enpirion DC-DC converter devices.

  • Designed +2K sq ft state of the art power electronics lab in remote site (Aswan, Egypt)

  • Created database for failure tracking, root cause assignment and IPM (Incidents per million) / DPM (Defects per million) reporting.

  • Created Change Order process, including documentation delivery to sub-contractors.

  • Designed and laid out all planar pcb transformers and inductors used in encapsulated and open framed “brick” type dc-dc power supplies.

  • Designed and analyzed new ferrite core structures to achieve required power supply footprint, and gave direction to ferrite manufacturers towards improvements in ferrite materials used in such designs.

  • Developed Excel/VBA design spreadsheets to quickly estimate pcb integrated (planar) transformer and inductor losses, pcb DC resistance and identify best stack up. Design spreadsheets used by all members in the component group and several power supply designers. 

  • Created Excel/VBA based automatic testing system to allow faster testing and improved accuracy. Reduced test times by 50%.

  • Developed Excel spreadsheet to aid in the design of wire wound switch-mode power transformers and inductors. Spreadsheet became standard for all designs within organization.
